The Cornille Havard foundry is heir to a long tradition of bellfounders established in Villedieu-les-Poêles since mediaeval times. In a workshop built in 1865, a hundred-odd immense bells are produced every year, perpetuating the skills and techniques of the Companions of the old days.
The best aspects of tradition and technology are combined. The foundry produces church bells, peals of bells and bronzes in art and decoration (artists' statues and bas-reliefs). It also handles the installation and maintenance of electric and electronic systems related to campanological art. The workshop is open to the public and receives over 50,000 visitors every year.
